Apprentice Termination

An issue involving an apprentice unilaterally seeking to terminate their apprenticeship by simply providing a resignation letter to their employer and then seeking to commence employment with another employer to complete their trade training was a recent matter before the South Australian Employment Tribunal (SAET).

This matter has raised a number of issues that members should be aware of and in particular their rights in such cases.
