SafeWork SA SWMS Audit Report Findings

SafeWork SA has released their 2020 Audit report on compliance with SWMS for HR construction activities.

The largest areas of non-compliance related to a failure to prepare a SWMS before commencing High Risk Construction Work (HRCW) and a failure to have adequate control measures in place to manage a risk of a person falling more than 3 metres.

They looked at the 3 construction industry sub divisions: Commercial, Residential & Civil. SafeWork SA found not having adequate control measures in place to manage a risk of a person falling more than 3 metres accounted for 67% of the statuary notices issued.
